Labor Day doesn’t always get the attention it deserves but if you know what to buy (and what to avoid), your savings may even surpass what you’ll see on Black Friday for several very specific shopping categories!

✅ My MUST Buy Category This Labor Day

Lowest Prices I’ve Ever Seen On Clothing: It’s priced almost as though it’s disposable and it’s not just limited to swimsuits and summer flip flops.

Here is an example of some of the prices at Old Navy right now!

If there is an article of fall or even a lighter winter jacket or holiday sweater that you desire, visit your favorite retailer in-store or online this Labor Day, and you’ll find prices lower than they’ve ever been in years.

👀 Other Labor Day Deals To Look Out For!

✅ Luggage: the deals are better now than most times of the year including Black Friday.

Samsonite is offering 40% off and an extra 10% off when you use code EXTRA10 and Kohl’s has one of the most robust luggage round-ups I’ve seen since last Labor Day.

✅ Appliances: LG is offering up to 30% off on dishwasher, washers, and every other appliance you can think off with massive store-wide reductions from Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowes.

✅ Mattresses: You won’t go wrong with any retailer specializing in mattresses but the deals I’ve seen from Macy’s are far better than what I’ve encountered from any major retailer, with massive discounts on almost every well-known brand.

✅ Patio Furniture: For more parts of the country, there is still plenty of time left for patio enjoyment. When the patio heaters drop in price next month, you can even extend outdoor enjoyment until mid-November for many areas. The lowest prices I’m seeing anywhere right now for patio furniture is at Walmart.

Here’s just one conversation set I have my eye on and another set at almost 40% off.

❌ What To AVOID Buying This Labor Day

❌ Anything Tech Related: Unless it’s a left-over back to school laptop deal, tech is not a great purchase - especially with Amazon’s October Prime Day and a potential rival Walmart October Sale right around the corner.

❌ Gaming and Toys: With Cyber Monday not too far off in the distant future, anything console or computer related will be a better buy in less than 100 days, with another chance for select toy deals in October - and that includes bikes!

❌ Indoor Furniture: While many deal experts will disagree with me, I find the Columbus Day deals in October more aggressive in terms of what we see right now with a better selection.

I’d reserve Labor Day for a focus on outdoor furniture purchases.
