❌ Common Upgrades That Are TANKING Your Home's Value

Plus, an Exclusive Look at the NEW October Sale Days!

With the change of seasons, many of us have our house front and center with holiday hosting right around the corner. Here’s a look at some easy home upgrades that go a long way and others that don’t often pay off.

If you have plans to sell a home, this week’s insight will hopefully benefit you as well!

What’s included this week:

The Worst Things To Buy For Your Home

Hardwood Floors: Original REAL hardwood can cost a small fortune and quickly get scuffed/scratched to the point where your investment will rarely pay-off.

Your better choice would be engineered hardwood flooring or scratch-resistant bamboo flooring, (among others) which are far more durable and can look just as realistic with minimal upkeep.

Professionally Installed (expensive) Landscaped Lighting: LED’s have become one of the least expensive and lowest maintenance products on the market.

Professional installation costs however continue to rise for many of the same stake lights, solar lights and motion sensor systems that you can otherwise find at Dollar Tree, Aldi, Warehouse Clubs and Home Depot / Lowes. For entire outdoor lighting systems, I would wait for October’s Prime day where this Govee system is expected to drop by almost 30-40%

Wall To Wall Carpeting: Alongside the allergens and unrecoverable dirt that can get trapped in the tiny seams where a carpet meets your wall, carpets can quickly become unhygienic.

While the coziness of a rug or carpet is second to none for your feet, removable carpeting and area rugs are usually a much better way to go.

Complete Bathtub or Shower Replacement: Before you endure the cost of a total bath or shower replacement, consider re-surfacing, reglazing or refinishing a bathtub or shower.

Bathtub fittings where a new surface is placed on-top of an older tub can significantly lower your cost as well. In some cases DIY bathtub repair kits and fresh caulking around shower edges can make a world of difference.

How To Increase Your Property Value For Less

Solar Panels: With less significant upfront cost, and a massive pay-off that can be experienced rather quickly (especially in areas with very hot or cold weather), the appeal of solar technology for future potential home buyers is generally a win for everyone involved.

A Fresh Coat Of Paint: You’ve likely heard this before but a clean new coat of paint alongside any small hole or drywall repairs that can be made with a DIY kit like this one from 3M can make a world of difference for both your daily home enjoyment and a guaranteed appeal for any guests.

Stamped Concrete: If you have stone work that needs replacement or updating, stamped concrete for patios or a driveway is customizable and more affordable than brick, pavers or natural stone.

It is not as durable but for many households, it could be an option that still holds up well.

Spruce Up Your Exterior: Pulling weeds, trimming bushes and power-washing your deck can have a massive impact on your curb appeal.

Power washers are always on sale this time of year and could benefit your deck, patio and other aspects of your property.

Smart Storage Solutions: Keeping any space clutter-free and organized is beneficial to your daily sanity (and regarded as a big perk for potential house buyers and visitors). If you have a closet with nothing more than a hanging bar, installing shelves and other storage solutions is not expensive.

Specialized bins for your fridge (that I’ve profiled in my prior Aldi and Dollar Tree videos) alongside special organizers for your pantry and under kitchen cabinets can make a world of difference very quickly.

🤫 A Great Site For Your Technical Sanity

(THIS IS NOT SPONSORED)

Have you ever tried to send an email that won’t send? If your internet is working, you might not have realized that Microsoft’s servers were down at the time. Perhaps your kids have complained that Roblox, X Box Live or your smartphone provider wasn’t functioning properly and you weren’t sure what to tell them.

DownDetector is one of my favorite free websites that monitors pretty much any service we use that can encounter a network problem or “go down” for a period of time.

Here is an example of what it looks like when a service is disrupted

Simply search for the service you use and you’ll get an immediate report of whether the problem solely affects your household or if an entire network outage is involved. Click here for more.

👀 EXCLUSIVE OCTOBER SALE DAY INFO

For all my valued YouTube viewers, this is an “insider” heads-up to mark your calendars for October 8th and 9th, as I’ll be dropping special videos featuring exclusive deals for Amazon Prime Day October and a new special Walmart sale. You won’t want to miss it!

While many of you may remember that Amazon held a special Prime Day last October (which is happening again this year!), not everyone knows that Walmart will be launching a brand-new sale this year to compete with Amazon.

From the sneak peek I received for some of the deals, it looks like Walmart will be giving Amazon some MAJOR competition this year. While I am not allowed to tell reveal all that information just yet, here are a few examples of some publicly announced deals so far:

I’ll be covering both Amazon Prime Day and Walmart's sale on my YouTube channel, highlighting the best deals from each event so you know the top bargains from each store.

Target will also be running a sale from October 6-12, and Best Buy on October 21. However, based on past pre-Black Friday sales, I haven't found any massive deals from these retailers.

If things change for this holiday quarter, I'll be sure to highlight any standout offers from Target and Best Buy as well! Feel free to reply to this email with any deal requests and I’ll keep those suggestions in mind when assembling my sale lists.
