🧼 Big Appliances: Significantly better deals arrive Memorial Day weekend.

🪑 Patio Furniture: Full price now—deep discounts hit late June with incredible deals closer to July 4th… with one major exception this month (see Home Depot article below!)

👙 Summer Apparel: New arrivals = high prices. Clearance comes mid-summer with the exception of some seasonal fashion finds at Sam’s and Costco.

🍖 Grills & Outdoor Cooking Gear: Big savings don’t show up until closer to Memorial Day in May with a second chance for Father’s Day in June.

📱 Top 3 Phone Plans of 2025 That Will Save You Money!

After last week’s roundup on the best smartphone plans for those 55+, I received a flood of requests for the most cost-effective plans for all ages, so here are my Top 3!

#1 - Visible by Verizon – $25/month for unlimited talk, text, and data. Runs on Verizon’s network and includes mobile hotspot (speeds capped). Taxes and fees included!

#2 - Mint Mobile – $15/month for 5GB (on T-Mobile’s network). Prepay 3 months upfront. An Unlimited plan is also available for just $30/month. Taxes and fees are included and this plan is now open to anyone of any age.

#3 - Ting Mobile – $10/month for unlimited talk + text on either Verizon or T-Mobile depending on your service area. The “Flex Plan” is great for those who do not use data on the go and would rather save money by using home or public WiFi instead.

All three have no contracts, and much cheaper than the big carriers’ more premium postpaid options. These are great options for trimming your bill, senior or not.

🛒 Woot’s First-Ever Liquidation Runs Until April 14: Oddly timed with what is likely over-stock and returns from Amazon’s Big Spring Sale in March, the markdowns are substantial although it will take some time to find “higher quality” items.

This Cuisinart Cappucino Machine with Milk Frother was one of the better deals I found.

🍼 Free $30 Target GiftCard with $100 Select Baby Care Purchase: Get a $30 Target Gift Card when you spend $100 on select baby diapers, wipes, training pants, and toiletries. (Offer ends April 12!)

📦 Amazon’s Hard To Find “Hidden Outlet” Expands: While the deals change by the hour, if you visit the newly expanded Amazon Outlet section at the right time, you might see a strong deal. Fashion items at up to 50% off are more of a norm this month.

👜 Kate Spade Hits Target April 12: If you are a fan of Kate Spade (like my wife), through a new partnership, over 300 items will launch with many under $15. Expect bags, accessories and stock that can vary significantly from one store to the next.

🧰 Home Depot’s Spring Black Friday Sale is the real deal!

With patio furniture typically a purchase I would not recommend right now, that advice goes out the window with a sale that just dropped, that runs until April 16th.

This is one of the only spring events where I’ve seen real markdowns on patio items.

This particular patio set is a full 60% off MSRP and one of my favorite deals.

We’re talking up to 40% off on full sets, sectionals, umbrellas—stuff that’s normally overpriced this time of year. Inventory is solid right now too, which means you’re not settling for leftovers like you might in August. If you want to enjoy it all season without overpaying, this is the one spring sale I’d consider.
