❌ Do NOT Buy These Things in May

May presents a unique opportunity to save if you know the purchases to avoid. Even with Memorial Day around the corner, these are still the big categories to skip.

❌ Electronics (TVs, laptops, tablets): The deals just aren’t here yet. Despite a few exceptions at Warehouse Clubs, Prime Day deals in July are night and day.

❌ Lingerie and Swimwear: June typically offers more swim and undergarment sales than April and May combined. Wait for June’s Semi-Annual Sales at stores like Victoria’s Secret early and you’ll save up to 60%.

❌ Jewelry (for Mother’s Day): True deals are hard to find before Mother’s Day. Hold off and shop after the holiday or during end-of-year sales.

❌ Athletic Apparel: June brings bigger activewear sales when fewer people are working to perfect their “beach bods.” In June you’ll find BOGO and 40% off deals from most major brands.

❌ Grills and Accessories: Most of the big sales drop closer to Memorial Day and if you can wait even close to July 4th, pricing shifts to clearance at that point!
