🚨 NEW Shopping Info You NEED To Know!
💵 $1 SALE AT AMAZON: For a very limited time, Amazon Haul is running a huge $1 flash sale promotion.

While the sale is a little limited in terms of big brands, I saw some great decor, clothing and stationary at cheaper than Dollar Tree prices.
✈️ UNLIMITED FLIGHTS FOR $299: Frontier is offering a brand new GoWild pass until Sept 12, that allows you to fly as many times you want for a whole year.

This works on all domestic routes (and some international) and is a superb deal if this airline has flights near or to your local airport.
🪪 COSTCO P&G SHOP CARD PROMO: Spend $100 on select P&G products by Sept. 21 and get a free $25 Costco Shop Card, or $50 back if you spend $200.

This is valid for everyday staples like Tide, Charmin, Olay and countless other products you may already be buying for your household.
🍼 TRADE IN YOUR OLD CAR SEAT FOR $$$: Target has brought back their Car Seat Trade-In Event from last year where if you bring any old/expired seat to participating stores, you score back a 20% OFF coupon to use toward a new car seat, stroller, or select baby gear.

PLUS: Target is offering a 20% OFF coupon for any verified college students until September 27th.
🍦 DAIRY QUEEN 85¢ BLIZZARD TREATS: Now through Sept. 21, DQ Rewards members can grab a small Blizzard for 85 cents with any $1 purchase in the app. It’s free to join and a fun/cheap fall treat that my kids very much appreciate.

❌ Do NOT Buy These Things in September
📱 Brand New Smartphones: Apple drops new iPhones tomorrow (Tuesday Sept 9th), but the timing is awful for buyers. The latest models will be full price, while last year’s phones are immediately discounted. Wait until October or later if you can.
💻 Laptops: September deals on laptops are weak compared to what we’ll see in November. With the exception of a few warehouse club deals, retailers save the best markdowns for Black Friday which is approaching faster than I’d like to admit.
🧸 Toys: It’s too early for holiday toy deals. Prices dip in October during fall sales, and the biggest toy discounts occur during the two weeks that precede Christmas.
🏝️ Vacations & Cruises: Tempted to book a trip right now? I wouldn’t. Black Friday and Travel Tuesday (the Tuesday after Cyber Monday) deliver some of the lowest cruise and travel package prices of the year.
🍳 Small Appliances: Coffee makers, air fryers, blenders and all-in-ones are all at so-so prices in September. With October Prime Day right around the corner, I’ll wait until then when small appliances see some of their steepest markdowns.
🎧 Headphones, Audio and Gaming Accessories: Headphones, audio and certain gaming accessories will drop not only in October on Amazon but also at both Walmart and Best Buy with sales they launch to counter Prime Day.

Here are some recent subscriber submitted money-saving tips:
Kimber from VA writes: “A lot of online merchants offer "free shipping" over a certain dollar amount. If I am close, I always look at how much the shipping cost is and then try to find a usable item (socks are always top of my list) or a small stocking stuffer to make up the difference of what I would need to spend to unlock the free shipping. I would rather spend $10 on socks than $10 on shipping!”
Michael P writes: “I seldom use Costco. So when I am a member, I buy shop cards for the next year. I think that you can buy the cards from your account even after the card has expired.”
Bill from ND writes: “Don’t throw out those prescription bottles. Walgreens and CVS often run extra rewards when you sign up for automatic refills and I pair that with coupons from the app. Between points and discounts, my vitamins and meds end up costing half what they used to.”

💡Shonnie Asks: Would you recommend purchasing a premium refurbished Apple or Android phone from Back Market, Reebelo or Amazon? I am due for a new phone soon but I do not want to be stuck in a three year contract with my carrier.
Hi Shonnie! Refurb is a great way to go! Amazon Renewed, Back Market, and Reebelo all certify devices and offer warranties, but I’d lean toward the one with the longest return window and coverage (Back Market and Reebelo often give a year). Always make sure the phone is fully unlocked, and check Apple’s or Samsung’s own refurbished stores too for extra peace of mind after the new iPhone release this week.
💡John R Asks: When is the best time to buy a gas fireplace insert?
Hi John, late winter to early spring (Feb - April) is the best time to buy. While there might be the odd pre-Christmas promotion, prices are highest the final quarter of the year.
💡Stacey Asks: Hi Deal Guy: when is the best time to buy snow tires?
Great timely question Stacey! The best time is right now before the first big rush of winter shoppers. September is when rebates and promotions are strongest and inventory is still wide open. You’ll find promos listed directly on the websites for Firestone, Michelin, and shops like Discount Tire, plus warehouse clubs like Costco and Sam’s Club are running their own tire deals.
