Here are some recent subscriber submitted money-saving tips:
Lydia from AZ writes: “After major holidays, I stock up on clearance candles, napkins, and paper goods. Red and white items from Christmas double as Valentine’s décor, and blue from July 4th works again for Labor Day.”
Joan from FL writes: “I buy discounted gift cards from Sam’s Club right before the holidays and use them for grocery runs and restaurants all winter. It’s like locking in an instant 15% return before the year even starts.”
Bruce from WI writes: “I always ask local hardware stores if they’ll honor Home Depot or Lowe’s coupons. Many do! I’ve saved on paint, mulch, and small tools just by showing a competitor’s offer on my phone.”

✅ 8 Things You SHOULD Be Buying In November
📱 Apple devices: iPads, older Apple Watches, and 2nd gen AirPods are up to 30% off now with new iPhones linked to huge gift card incentives and carrier discounts in about two weeks. This is the best Apple pricing you’ll see the whole year.
🧥 Cold weather clothes: Sweaters, flannels, and winter coats are 40% to 50% off at Old Navy, Gap, and Macy’s. Retailers are clearing space for party clothes and gifting sets so warm basics are priced to move this week.
💻 Laptops: Dell, HP, and Lenovo are running early Black Friday pricing with savings up to 40%. If you need a student laptop or a work from home upgrade, this is the best selection you will get all year. You’ll see even more deals the week leading into Cyber Monday.
🧹 Vacuums: Shark, Dyson, and Bissell deals will populate every major retailer within two weeks. RoboVacs from Roomba, Roborock and others will be widely available Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
🎧 Headphones and earbuds: Whether you’re in the market for Airpods or Beats, you’ll find discounts at their best on Amazon for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. JBL deals and promos from other brands will populate deal feeds throughout the month.
🍳 Small and Major Appliances: Ninja, Keurig, Instant Pot, and KitchenAid will all see up to 40% off this month. If you bake, host, or want to upgrade your coffee setup, the last two weeks of November are prime time. Large scale appliances are also at their biggest discounts of the year right now at Home Depot, Best Buy and Lowe’s.
🎄 Holiday decor: Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Michaels have trees, wreaths, and lights up to 35% off already. Waiting longer might save more, but by then the good stuff and matching sets are gone.
🏠 Smart Home Gear: Warehouse Clubs, Best Buy and Amazon will rotate Ring, Nest, Echo, Blink Eufy and other major brand discounts to the tune of 40% throughout the month with most discounts peaking on Black Friday. Now is the time to buy!

💬 Ask The Deal Guy
To get your question answered, simply respond to this email with any money-saving related question and feel free to include your first name so I can address you properly.
💡 Diane T Asks: “What is the best time to buy a WiFi router? Is there one you would recommend? Thanks for all you do.”
Hi Diane! Thanks for making me feel so appreciated. For a smaller space or a home all on one level, I’m fond of the TP Link Archer standalone system that’s currently on sale. For anything else, I highly recommend an Eero Mesh system. I’ve tested almost every brand and I find the app, design, ease of use and customer service is the best. I would hold off until Black Friday or Cyber Monday to buy.
💡 Amanda P Asks: “My husband and I are in our 60s and looking at Medicare Advantage plans for 2026. Do you have any advice?”
I’d be happy to be of assistance Amanda, but without knowing your home state, I have some overall advice I can provide… although plans vary by zip code. After securing the basics that matter to you and your husband, the perks vary widely from one plan to the next like dental, vision, or gym memberships. It’s worth checking each plan’s Medicare star rating (out of 5) as a quality indicator, since higher-rated plans often reflect better member satisfaction and service.
💡Janette G Asks: “I purchased some Xmas bulbs and Command removable hooks when you were talking about them. Now I need a 5-6 foot ladder to put them up. Would Home Depot be my best bet? You said November 5 - end of the year, I think.”
Hi Janette! I’m so happy you were able to take advantage of my advice on the bulbs and commands hooks. The best price on a ladder of strong quality is on sale right now at Home Depot for $54 (down from $74). To assist with hanging the lights, now is a good time to buy.
📬 Holiday Shipping Deadlines You Need To Know
If you have a delivery that you want to ensure reaches its destination by December 25th, these are some helpful deadlines to consider from each major carrier.

• Ground Advantage: Ship by Dec. 16
• First Class Mail: Ship by Dec. 17
• Priority Mail: Ship by Dec. 18
• Priority Mail Express: Ship by Dec. 20
If you are mailing to Alaska or Hawaii, move those dates up by 1 to 2 days. If you are sending anything heavy or bulky by Ground, I would send it sooner. USPS is the least expensive compared to all shipping options but delays are more common.

• Ground or Home Delivery: Ship by Dec. 16 to Dec. 18 depending on the distance
• Express Saver: Ship by Dec. 20
• 2Day: Ship by Dec. 21
• Overnight: Ship by Dec. 23
FedEx also offers SameDay for some locations, but I would avoid it unless absolutely necessary.

• Ground: Ship by Dec. 16 depending on where it is going
• 3 Day Select: Ship by Dec. 19
• 2nd Day Air: Ship by Dec. 21
• Next Day Air: Ship by Dec. 23
UPS offers Saturday delivery on Dec. 23 but it’s with a hefty premium fee. I use UPS when I am mailing something bulky or fragile that I want scanned and trackable every step of the way.
