💰 New Amazon Credits: Here are two brand new opportunities to get some cash back while shopping on Amazon this June:

🐮 Free Chick-fil-A Entrée on July 14th: Provided you’re okay with dressing up in some form of cow themed clothing, participating Chick-fil-A locations will be giving away free entrées on July 14th to celebrate “Cow Appreciation Day”.

The promotion runs through 7:00 PM local time with no purchase required.

🎯 Free $10 Credit for Teachers: Target is giving teachers a $10 Circle Reward just for creating a wishlist, adding 10 items, and sharing it with at least one person by June 20th (Must be verified as a teacher through Targets website).

The reward lands in your account automatically once you finish those steps, and you can put it toward anything in the store.

Do Not Buy These Items in June

Barbecues / Grills: Most retailers are still charging near peak season prices for grills now that Memorial Day has come and gone. Wait until July 4th or later in the summer, where you'll often find much better deals.

Patio Furniture: Outdoor furniture is still in high demand, which keeps prices elevated. Better markdowns usually arrive later in the summer, although warehouse clubs can occasionally offer strong values if you find a clearance item.

Summer Sandals: The selection is great right now, but discounts are limited. Prices often improve later in the season when retailers start clearing summer inventory. The exception can be Costco and Sam's Club which doesn’t follow the same markdown calendar as a typical store.

Mattresses: Memorial Day sales have largely ended, and many Fourth of July promotions have not started yet. Waiting a few more weeks could save you hundreds of dollars.

Back To School Supplies: Most of the best school supply promotions have not started yet. Prices typically become much more competitive in July as major retailers begin competing for back to school shoppers.

Indoor Furniture: Furniture retailers frequently run stronger promotions in July as they make room for new inventory. Waiting a few weeks can lead to noticeably better prices on larger purchases.

Here are some recent subscriber submitted money-saving tips:

Michelle writes: “Years ago we got a set of dishes made of wheatstraw at Sam's Club and we love them. I was wondering if you could keep an eye out for any on good deals... actually I found some good deals on Amazon, but if you find even better deals, or if you want to suggest them to others, they're really sturdy, microwave and dishwasher safe, and just all around awesome (I think biodegradable as well).”

Susan from TX writes "I stopped buying books I'll only read once. My local library has a free app that lets me borrow eBooks and audiobooks from home. Between that and library passes to local attractions, I've saved hundreds of dollars a year."

Cryst’l from VA writes: “I was reading the subscriber submitted savings tips, and wanted to chime in that in addition to Chris's recommendation for pet meds at Costco, Sam's Club has amazing deals on insulin as well. When our dog became diabetic, we paid $180 for one vile of insulin and $39 for one box of 100-count syringes from a big name pharmacy in town. They also required a paper prescription from our vet every time we needed more, which was a 40-minute drive from our house.  Sam's didn't require a prescription, and we paid $25 per vile and $19 per box of syringes.”

👎🏼 10 Products You’re Overpaying For.. (And Where To Get Them Cheaper)

Most people don't realize they're paying double for these 10 everyday products. Here's where to buy them instead:

🥣 Name Brand Cereal: Many shoppers assume warehouse clubs always have the lowest prices. Grocery stores frequently beat Costco and Sam's Club when digital coupons, buy one get one promotions, and loyalty discounts are combined.

🪒 Razor Refills: Drugstores are often the most expensive place to buy replacement cartridges. Amazon subscriptions, warehouse clubs and online razor brands like Harry’s and Dollar Shave Club can save a surprising amount over time.

🫒 Olive Oil: This is one category where Costco often wins. The warehouse club's pricing on quality extra virgin olive oil is frequently far below what you'll find at traditional grocery stores. Speaking of Costco….

🧀 Specialty Cheese: Imported cheeses and entertaining trays are often significantly cheaper at Costco than traditional grocery stores, especially around the holidays.

📱 Phone Chargers and Cables: Electronics retailers often charge a premium for accessories. Amazon and Walmart frequently sell highly rated alternatives for much less.

🏠 Home Improvement Supplies: Many shoppers automatically buy everything at Home Depot or Lowe's. For basics like extension cords, air filters, work gloves, storage bins, and cleaning supplies, Walmart and Amazon can often be noticeably cheaper.

🥤 Soft Drinks: Warehouse clubs often have strong everyday pricing, but grocery stores can occasionally beat them during holiday sales when coupons and loyalty offers stack together.

💊 Over The Counter Medications: Costco and Sam's Club frequently offer some of the lowest prices on allergy medicine, pain relievers, and generic medications.

🐶 Pet Supplies: Grocery stores are frequently one of the most expensive places to buy pet food and treats. Chewy, Amazon Subscribe & Save, and warehouse clubs offer better pricing, especially on larger bags and recurring purchases.

🧴 Cleaning Products: Warehouse clubs can be a great value, but grocery stores sometimes beat Costco and Sam's Club when manufacturer coupons, loyalty discounts, and buy one get one promotions stack together.

What's the one product you've stopped buying at Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Amazon, or your local grocery store because you found it cheaper somewhere else? Let me know and I may feature your tip in a future newsletter or YouTube video!

💬 Ask The Deal Guy

To get your question answered, simply respond to this email with any money-saving related question and feel free to include your first name so I can address you properly.

Bob Asks: “We are such huge fans ever since your radio days here in Cleveland! This may be the strangest request that you’ve ever received for a deal but my wife and I want to add a bidet (or two) to our toilet(s) and are looking for a good deal. We’d prefer one with a warm water option. Can you help us? Thanks for everything you do for all of us.”

Hi Bob! I’m honored to learn I’ve been part of your life for so long and equally excited you’ve found me here! I’ve been asked for far more bizarre products. Bidets are very common and appreciated by those who own one. As the most reasonably priced and well featured model I know of, the Bio Bidet Bliss BB500 at $220 would check all of your boxes most likely. On the higher end of the spectrum, the Alpha Bidet JX2 (on sale for almost $50 off) was ranked tops by Forbes and has a 3 year warranty (which I would recommend).

💡 Lisa AsksHi, thank you for all you do. Can you give a suggestion for a simple coffee maker? Nothing with a pod, frother or anything fancy. Thank you.”

You asked an excellent question and I’ve had plenty of time observing my wife stress test many machines over the years. If you're looking for a simple coffee maker without pods or extra features, I'd take a look at the Cuisinart Perfectemp 14 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker currently on sale or the Black and Decker tried tested and true model you’ll likely recognize. It’s fully programmable and under $36.

Anxhela asks: “Love your youtube videos and the deals you in your weekly emails!
I am currently move states for work in a month and am looking to trade in my sedan and purchase a new suv to help with the move. Any tips you may have in that department? Also any moving tips in general?”

Thanks for reading and watching Anxhela! If you're trading in your sedan, get quotes from CarMax, Carvana, and your local dealer before making a decision. The offers can vary by thousands of dollars. I'd also avoid mentioning the move when negotiating the SUV purchase so you don't appear rushed.

I love moves because they force many of us to declutter. The less you move, the less you'll spend. If you're not taking much furniture, it's also worth comparing the cost of shipping boxes through UPS or FedEx, which can sometimes be cheaper than hiring a moving company for a smaller long distance move. I’ve had success with both.

‼️ BONUS TIP.. for the MANY wonderful subscribers who asked questions about major appliances: your next chance to score a deal is July 4th (NOT PRIME DAY) so I would hold off if you can.
