💳 Walmart and Sam’s Club Are FINALLY Getting Tap-to-Pay! Starting today August 24, select locations will accept contactless cards, Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet.

All U.S. stores and clubs should have it by the end of 2026, followed by fuel stations in mid-2027.

📉 Huge Clearance Sales on School Supplies: Prices on School Supplies are currently CHEAPER at Target and Walmart than Dollar Tree.

Target has crayons and glue starting at 25¢, while Walmart also has many supplies also priced at 25¢.

☕ FREE Starbucks Creamer After Rebate: Buy one 24-ounce Starbucks Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer at your local grocery store by October 17th and receive up to $8 back through PayPal or Venmo.

There is a limit of one per household or email address, with receipts due October 31st.

🎓 Students Get Google AI Pro FREE for One Year: Eligible U.S. college students age 18 and older receive 12 months free, including 5 TB of storage.

While I don’t use AI tools all that often, I could see this being handy for any deeper research beyond what Google can generate through its regular search engine. It is important to note a payment method is required and this does renew at $19.99 per month unless cancelled.

🔁 Reorder Five Amazon Items and Save 10%: Amazon is offering 10% off five eligible products you previously purchased, without requiring Subscribe & Save.

The amount of items eligible aren’t a lot and the discount isn’t huge, but if you were already planning to re-buy any essentials you’ve ordered from Amazon in the past this is a no brainer.

🚨 Costco’s P&G Offer Is Back! From August 24 through September 20, spend $100 to get a $25 Costco Shop Card, or spend $200 to get one for $60. This only happens once per year, so if you were holding off, now is your chance!

Not a lot of people realize multiple receipts can be combined (the spend doesn’t have to be all in one transaction), but there is a limit of one rebate claim per membership.

BONUS TIP: If you don’t have a Costco Membership, you can still get Up to $25 back from P&G (through September 30), from the “Back to school” rebate listed on their website directly.

Donna writes: “This is once again in response to the person interested in cruises for singles. My daughter just started working for a company called WeRoad. It is very popular in Europe and is currently expanding into the US. They organize groups of 4-14 people who are approximately 25-40 years old and don’t want to travel alone. Everything is planned out for you and a travel guide goes along also. Check it out!”

Bob J from NE writes: “Microsoft Rewards are points you can (quickly) accumulate by using Bing as your default search engine and going about 5 minutes of search tasks daily. The points add up quickly and can be used for a wide variety of gift cards. MyPoints works in the same way but can take longer to build up points daily but offer some huge point opportunities for certain tasks.”

Steph from AL writes: “Whenever I submit a rebate, I take a screenshot of the offer, the terms and the confirmation number before the promotion page disappears. I also set a calendar reminder one week before the stated payout date so I know when to follow up.”

A lot of people assume everything advertised over Labor Day is a great buy, but several categories are better in 60 days. Here are all the items I would avoid over the holiday weekend:

❌ Televisions: With the exception of select deals at warehouse clubs, the two weeks that precede Black Friday are the strongest deals of the entire year and I would wait!

❌ Apple Phones and Watches: Apple is expected to announce new products immediately after Labor Day, which should trigger better discounts and trade-in offers.

❌ Gaming Consoles: Black Friday typically brings better console bundles, free games and bonus gift cards.

❌ Small Kitchen Appliances: Coffee makers, air fryers, blenders and mixers are better deals for Amazon’s October Prime Days and almost anytime in November.

❌ Toys: The true holiday toy price war starts in December, although I would not wait on a must-have toy that could sell out or limited time warehouse club promos.

❌ Winter Coats and Boots: Wait for mid-November if you need them soon or January and February for the deepest clearance prices.

❌ Fitness Equipment: Black Friday and January usually bring much stronger discounts on treadmills, weights and home gym equipment.

❌ Annual Subscriptions: Streaming services, security software and other annual plans usually offer their best introductory prices during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Ever wonder where all of those big-box store and online returns actually go? Many end up at stores like these, where previously sold items, overstock and open-box merchandise are tossed into bins and sold at steep discounts. Just by searching Google for terms like “bin store,” “liquidation bin store” or “Amazon return store” you should be able to pull up locations near you.

They sell returns and overstock from retailers like Amazon, Costco, Walmart and Target, often using prices that drop each day. At Where Ya Bin, for example, everything starts at $10 on Friday and falls to just 25¢ by Thursday. I’d shop early for the best selection or later for the biggest gamble and lowest price.

Just inspect everything carefully, make sure all the pieces are included and test electronics when allowed because many purchases are final sale.

Jenni from WV Asks: “I’ve been postponing buying a vacuum cleaner I don’t hate for years because they’re all so expensive and I have a three-story house that makes schlepping them up and down stairs a real hassle. I researched central vacuum systems a little bit awhile ago and was surprised at how inexpensive they are compared to quality vacuum cleaners. But are they really inexpensive, or did ChatGPT just lie to me (again)? What can you tell us about central vac installation?”

Hi Jenni, ChatGPT did not lie to you this time, but it may have skipped the expensive part! A central vacuum is fantastic when you buy a house with the pipes and wall inlets already installed, but that can easily cost $1200 to $4000 depending on the home.

For that price, you could buy a top-of-the-line cordless vacuum for every floor, choose models with long warranties, never carry one upstairs and potentially still come out ahead. Unless you are already renovating or the home has been roughed in for central vacu, I would skip the installation.

Anita Asks “I am a crafter (beginner), and I want a die cutting/embossing machine. The recommended ones seem to be all priced over $100. Any crafting deals would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I love you. Bye-bye.”

The Sizzix is smaller and less expensive, while the Spellbinders handles wider projects and gives you more room to grow.

I am looking for a small laptop, usually stores have sales for Back to School, but I seen that most of them are above $500 dollars. Before we could buy one for less than $300 dollars.What sales should we wait for this year?”

You asked a very popular question. Mid-November through Cyber Monday is the best time of the year to score a laptop deal. However, a trick I often tell people to give out is to try to hunt down a clearance deal at Costco if you can’t wait for a major sale day.

You can often find incredible laptop deals each month just by checking the available clearance prices at your local store. Even if you don’t have a membership, you can still download the app, go to the “Warehouse” tab and search the in-store deals at a nearby warehouse.

‼️ BONUS TIP.. for the MANY wonderful people who asked questions about major appliances and mattresses, Labor Day is right around the corner and these deals are comparable to Black Friday making this a prime time to buy!
