✋🏼 Do Not Buy These Items Before Black Friday

❌ Big Screen Savings Beyond Belief: Doesn’t everyone at this point own a TV they’re relatively happy with? Stores actually had a lot of difficulty moving televisions last year, so I expect to see some MAJOR reductions this Black Friday.

With the influx of leftover stock from 2023, prices will be some of the lowest you’ve ever seen for 2024. If you're considering an upgrade, this is the year!

❌ Smart Everything: If the colder weather has your wheels turning toward more home efficiency, there will be epic deals on smart thermostats, door locks, doorbells, home security, surveillance and practically anything “smart” is usually discounted to an extreme.

❌ Vacuums: Everything from stick vacuums to robot vacuums are a better buy during the week leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

If your current vacuum can last a couple more weeks, the savings are worth the wait!

❌ Small and Large Appliances: Rock-bottom prices are expected on anything from countertop gadgets to the larger scale washers, dryers, stoves and cooktops that help power your home.

Due to an abundance of unsold inventory from this past Labor Day and subsequent lower Columbus Day appliance sales, incentives will be even more aggressive this year on all types of appliances.

💡 BONUS TIP - Local Shops Will Take On The Chains: In the past, there have been shop local Saturday’s sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday. While that will still be the case this year, the savings from local furniture stores, car dealerships, pool manufacturers, HVAC companies, beauty salons and others are expected to surpass what we see from the big chains.

🥶 6 Home Hacks To Save You Money This Winter

Install a Chimney Balloon: If you have a fireplace, a chimney balloon seals off drafts when it’s not in use.

It’s a low-cost way to block up that sneaky heat escape route!

Insulate Electrical Outlets: Wall outlets on exterior walls are often overlooked but can leak a lot of heat. Foam outlet gaskets are cheap, easy to install, and prevent drafts.

There’s a great article from The Family Handyman that explains how to DIY (or call a professional).

Door Sweep Magic: Install door sweeps or draft stoppers at the bottom of exterior doors to keep cold air from sneaking in.

Even a small gap under the door can make a big difference in heating efficiency! You can get 2 Packs on Amazon as low as $9!

Adjust Ceiling Fans: In winter, reverse your ceiling fan’s rotation (to clockwise) to push warm air down from the ceiling. It’s a small change but can help your heating system work a little less hard.

Window Shrink Film For The Win: Apply shrink film to drafty windows for a layer of extra insulation.

The film creates a tight seal that stops heat from escaping through the glass. You can even buy a budget version of this from Dollar Tree for $1.25!

Storm Drapes = Savings! I know this sounds crazy and isn’t the most aesthetic but when I was living in Fargo, I befriended a family that had a giant heavy duty drape installed in their entry way.

This has become a phenomenon in smaller restaurants as well to create a buffer zone for warm air to stay in and cold air to stay out.
